cxthecloud asked: Do you use any type of cloud storage? If so, what kind, and why?

Yes, I actively use Dropbox, Google Drive, and Skydrive. I have used others in the past (spideroak, Mozy, Box.net) but don’t any longer.

  • Dropbox. It just works and I set my default file saves for MS office to it for easy saves. I also transfer files to/from machine when my NAS isn’t available. It just works. They also have good revision reversion via the web client.
  • Google Drive: I use this because of the apps that I can use when on the road and for sharing. However, I use this less and less. I don’t think it’s part of Drive, but I store my music on Google Music and images on Picassa.
  • Microsoft Skydrive: I have started using this for longer term storage. I have 20GB and I might bump this to 50GB. Here I store my images at full resolution and old documents that I don’t want to delete but don’t need right now. This might change as well since skydrive has an Android client.
